Week 7 : Fashion

       Today we studied the new lesson. It was a 'Fashion'. First the teacher assigned us to write vocabularies about fashion onto the board. I learned new vocabularies such as halter top, platform shoes, fishnet stocking and etc.

      Then, we had to read the passage about "The Fusion? Confusion?". First, I am using scanning to read and captured the main idea each of paragraph. I found the difficulty that I could not capture the main idea some of paragraphs I saw the context clue and tried to capture the main idea. Finally, I could understand about this text.

     It was about the woman name's Yumiko, a student from Tokyo studying in U.S, have found herself in difficulty because of  her clothes. She had two bad experiences when she arrived there. The first time was a Saturday night when she went out with some students at her university. A lot of people stares at her because her clothes  were different. The second time a man approached her and wanted to take her away because the way she dress. Yumiko realized that her clothes caused the two problems. When American people go out, they rarely dress up. They usually wear comfortable clothes such as jeans, T-shirt, and sneakers. It's interesting to learn that the image you get of a country from the TV is often very different in reality.

      The teacher gave us to include the main idea each of paragraph on the whiteboard. When we mistook she also helped us to guide the contents each of paragraph so we could understand exactly.

           I had problem about how to use skimming and scanning. I can't find main idea in the passage. I usually think the detail of passage is a main idea. I should try to read and find main idea as much as I can do.

week 6:Today's Techology (Continued)

 First of all, We had to test in unit 1 and 2: Healthy Diet and Natural disasters within 1 hour. Before the test started, I prayed for myself "wish knowledges stay with me and wish me do it extremely,please" I was worry a little bit because I can't found my watch!  The instructor said"if you're not sure in some part,you can skip and do them later." I followed her suggestion strictly because I didn't have a watch.After that, she gave our to make group,gave to handouts and describe about produce such as (1.Blogging for   ELT1 2.Blogging ELT2  3.Podcast1 4.Podcast2 5.Facebook 6.Search engine ). Everyone read articles in handout and summary this text .Then each of group 2 peoples move to other groups for taking about their topics summary. The easiness about to read the articles or study in this class are 1.look at the picture 2.predicting 3.strategics.And I used skimming and scanning strategic.This lesson,I think I found difficult words and sentences.When I had problems,I will to find the meaning of words in dictionary online such as www.dictionary.cambridge.org.

Week 5:Today's Technology

The first activity that the teacher assigned us was sharing learning experience of last week with a partner. This week I was very happy bacause I can remember almost my learning experience.So I can told it fluency. Then she asked us to exchange about today's technology news with a partner.

  When we finished this activity,our instructor asked us to write words about technology on the whiteboard. It's my favorite activity so I went to write it with my friends quickly. We wrote them joyfully. Finally,our mission was complete.

We paid attention to do it.

Next,we obtained today's technology worksheets from the teacher. She assigned us to do exercises from page 24 to 28.I used skimming and scanning strategics in the article is " Profcast " of the text,when I had problems about difficult words , I will try to guess that words but I can't. I will to find the meaning of words by dictionary on internet or dictionary application on my smartphone  such as www.dictionary.Cambridge.org etc. It is the best choice for me.

Week 4 : Natural Disasters (Continued)

Today's in English Reading Strategies class, I learned about Natural disaster and news stories.The teacher asked us to exchange our learning experience in last week with a partner. Sakulrat and I talked about it difficulty because she was sick.But she tried to do it extremely. Then,the teacher answered the exercises of natural disasters continued last week. Next,she asked us to read the news and do the exercises of  Japan earthquake: Tsunami hits north-east and California fires: Evacuation orders given to 13,000. 

The first one was answer the questions from the news,the second one was choose true(T) or false(F) in the space provide,the third one was write unfamiliar words and find their meaning from dictionaries,the fourth one was same the first exercises and the last one was complete each sentences with the correct word. I did it tiredly because there were lots of vocabulary that made me feel dizzy! But I can do it for my English skills. I will improve it more and more and more.

Before the ended of class, the teacher assigned us to search about today's technology news for the next week.

Week 3 : Natural disaster/news stories

Today's in English Reading Strategies class, I learned about Natural disaster and news stories.We were discuss my names of Natural disaster and talk about news of natural disaster with my partner.

 Today's news about the country Myanmar "Myanmar flooding affects one million"

and news about the country China "Typhoon Soudelor hits China with deaths,floods and mudslides"

I found a simple vocabulary and what was rare was the main idea of each paragraph,find the keywords I used skimming the news stories to find the main gist,scanning the news stories for specific information.
and Today, we have to present to the class about a Healthy and Unhealthy diet.
Finally,I want to said that this lesson today was very useful to known the name of a Natural disaster.

Week 2: Healthy Diet (continued)

Today's in English Reading Strategies class, I learned about Healthy Diet ,My friends and I had a thought the main idea of each paragraph and fill up the correct answer.I had to think about what the Japanese diet.

I found a simple vocabulary and what was rare was the main idea of each paragraph,I tried to found key words in order to got the focus right,I used scanning of the answers,I can solve this problem by read more and used dictionary for translate. However,

I must do practice and learn yourself.The teacher assigned us to create a diet project.



I thing my diet is quite unhealthy. I eat a lot of junk food and dessert. I try not to eat too much vegetables.For breakfast I usually eat porridge and sometimes eat  bread and milk or noodles and at lunchtime I eat fried chicken. In the evening I usually eat very big meals when it has market fair. I usually buy Tom Yum Goong,Pad Thai,Pho soup and soybean milk.One thing I love is Cakes and one thing I never eat is slatternly.

Introduction A healthy diet?

Yesterday I had learned English Reading Strategies in first time with Dr.Usa Noytim .I learned and understood the descriptions because the teacher preaches .I  know the rules of the classroom
       1.Be Punctual
       2.Pay Attention to the lesson
       3.Do not use cell phone in the classroom
       4.Do not cheat
       5.Follow dress code policy
       6.Listen white others are speaking or sharing.
Also known as Framework, which is beneficial to me.

 A healthy diet? this was topic about classification between healthy diet and unhealthy diet,It made me realize and understood that junk food was like.

The teacher explained how to used Cambridge dictionaries online.I used scanning,skimming and find the keywords.And ultimately I think this course was very useful to read and analyze the English.
