Week14:ASEAN Economic Community (continued) and Extensive reading


THE ASEAN COMMUNITY 2015



           For a start, teacher answered exercises of the ASEAN community 2015's worksheets. Secondly she assighned us to divided group to brainstormed about the topic "The impact of the ASEAN community" and "How to prepare yourself for ASEAN community" and sent representative to presented in front of class.



        After that, she asked us to write words about "research on English language reading" in spider web on whiteboard. We wrote many words about it like reseacher,students,research chart,results or conclude. Then she gave us new worksheets "Extensive reading" and asked us to do excercises and read passage "Simply read"by skimming then she assighned us to do homework. 




            At last, teacher assighned us to listened "Thai labor when open ASEAN 2015" 2 times by the first time just only listened and the second were listened and wrote words that you heard then brought them to summaried in this topic "Thai labor when open ASEAN 2015". We worked it by group.

        I found a lot of problems when I did these activities such as I can't understood content fromthe radio, when I did exercise that we had to find contexts that were true or false but we also found line number of them. It's rather difficult for me. 






         I solved them by paid attention to listened 'Thai labor when open ASEAN 2015' in the second time and wrote words I heard very quickly and asked request from my partner to checked our answers each other. I thought there're not easy exercises for me.

Week13: Read Faster(continued) and Introduction of the ASEAN Community 2015


(Make up class 12 October 2015)


 First of all, teacher assigned us to read fast this passage 'Obstacles to faster effective reading' then answered last week's exercises. They were about read faster that very hard for me. The problem that I found were I was not understand how to do those terrible exercises but finally I can did it  because my friends and junior helped me.







          Next, teacher started new unit: the ASEAN community 2015 by assighned us to write words about the ASEAN community on spider web then opened video "The ASEAN community by 2015" for us.




           It was animation video about the ASEAN community 2015 that easily understood. Then she distributed worksheet to us and asked us to do task1: Watch the video and write down the words that you have seen and heard. I hardly ever found problem in this exercise because it was very easier than reading faster.


            After that, she asked us to do homework by sums up 'Obstacles to faster effective reading' and 'Hints for reading practice for speed' and took them into our blogs. Here are my homeworks.

-Think of the passage as a whole

- Pay attention to paragraph structures

- Dictionaries slow  you down

Finally, She gave us to read whole of this hand out in advance in order to practice our English Skill especially, Reading Skill.

Week 12: Classic Ann Landers and Obstacles to faster reading

CLASSIC ANN LANDERS (CONTINUE...)
  we responded the questions on page 3 so we needed to examine the answered by telling with the partner in order to check that which answered are correct or wrong in English version. This is the one method to improve our English Skill particularly, Speaking Skill.

Next, she gave us to write the answers on whiteboard in order to check whether they are correct or not.After that, she read the letters which sent to Ann Landers and her responses with analysis each of them. 

Next, the new lesson started. It is English Today / Learning Language. Before this lesson started, she had given us think about the obstacles to faster reading and wrote on the whiteboard.


                    Here is the obstacles to faster reading written by us.                    


We answered the question by ticking the statements do we agree with. we read the text and chose the answer by using the skimming to find what the text is about.Finally, She gave us to read whole of this hand out in advance in order to practice our English Skill especially, Reading Skill.

Week 11: Ann Landers Descriptions of Books and Novels Paragraph Reading Strategies


       For this class, the teacher brought her novels to show us and give us to read in description from their cover back then, we included what is the novels about in English version and her gave us her hand out that is about books and novels. 

This period 11th of this course. In this period, we started class by the midterm test. I am excited and anxious but I passed it on and Book & Novel. Next, my instructor gave us read back cover of book & novel. And summarized it to became our thought. After that, she gave us do exercise in the new sheet. Then, she gave us read the text that Classic Ann Landers by use reading strategies is skimming. After that, she gave us do exercise about this text.



 Which the solution is she gave agent write answer of their on the whiteboard. And my instructor adjusted to correct. Thing that I got in this period is reading that I understand it more than several week ago. I feel I have more development.

Week 10: West meets East (Continued)




       Today is 10th period of This course. My instructor begin this period by she greet us same every time. Next, she give us do speaking activity that we discuss about celebrities, food and product of Asia. It's cool.




 My partner think difficult me. Then we have much more to discuss. Next, my instructor start lesson by give us do exercise. When we do exercise finish, she give us match with partner again. She give us make question in topic that when we met foreigner we are asking what they. After that, she give us read the text that "Expat in Asia". When we read finish, she give us do exercise of the text. When we finish, she answer together with us. In this period, what I can do is to read vocabulary in text and understand meaning of it.

 I used scanning in my reading.  It's about questions and answers of the one foriegner who lives in Taiwan. The problems that I found were unfamiliar words and didn't understand about some sentences.  The last activity was according to the text,which of these which might be true? I did it very quickly because that moment was the bad feeling of me.

Week 9: West meets East







WWWWWWWooooooooooooWWWWWWWW


 First of all,she shown us the pictures about cultures of each countries both are western and eastern such as martial arts,fusion food,fusion clothes or movies etc. and asked us what are them about. Next,she asked us to do exercises in pre-reading 1: complete the sentences with the keywords in bold from the text. and pre-reading 2 : discuss the question with a partner. The questions are about cultures in west and east. 



 Then we read the text "Asianization of  the United states" by scanning and did exercises in comprehension 1:decide if the sentence are True(T) or False(F) Then write the line number where the evidence is and comprehension 2: answer the questions without using a dictonary.  Comprehension 1 made us so tired because we had to find that each sentences are true or false and wrote the line number of them. I had a headache so much! But I can dealt with it because my friend and I held on together! 

   Finally we finished both last exercises in this class. But the studying must go on because teacher Usa assigned us to do remaining exercises as a homework and told us if you don't do your homework you will be punished by me!

Week 8: Fashion (Continued)



Fashion part 2: Hairstyles

 Last week,the instructor assigned us to find our favorite hairstyles and tell the reason why we like them.In this class,the instructor asked us to discuss them with our partners before the end of class. So,welcome to the last part of fashion!




 At the first time,we did exercise about name of hairstyles by anagram them such as shaggy hair etc. Then,she asked us to read the paragraph about hairstyle in 5 countries and found summary together with friends. After that, we matched a country with a sentence about the paragraph. Next,we completed sentences with linking verbs. Then, read sentence and circle F for Fact or O for Opinion and talked to a partner and answer the questions about hairstyles of students. 



  The next activity was discuss about our favorite hairstyles with a partner. I waited for it attentively. I found the obstacles between I did it that are I am not sure what are my reason and what are the  benefits of this hairstyle. but I thought it was the coolest activity I have ever done!
