 Narratives (Continued)



Today we learn the narrative. From last week We read and exercise secrets of Kylie. Today we have summarized this.


The summary of this story

-Kylie felt left out from her mother and Philip's activities. (Philip is her stepfather.)
-She became interested in the chickens in the yard.
-Somehow her secret helped her to feel less lonely.
-She found a second egg and then found out where other are being laid by an unhealthy-looking hen.
-In the holidays, Philip and her mother left her alone.

-She was happy and went to the yard for looking her photo album.

-There was the bore well which thirty-six deep.
-Kylie was forbidden to lift the lid.
-First, she sat near the well and looked her photo album.
-After that, she went down into the well everyday.
-On  Sunday afternoon, Philip caught her down the well. Then he hit her.
-Kylie had something in her heart.
-She thrown the chicks down the well.
-Next, she hit the hen and thrown it down too.
-In that night, Kylie cut off her head from the special photo and thrown it away.

What did you find easy?

-Personally, I think the word is relatively easy to translate is not too difficult.

What did you find difficult?

-I think that the conclusion to the story and the scene is difficult to guess the contents.

What did you solve the problem?

-I used the Cambridge Dictionary online.  And definition To make it easier to translate and read aloud the correct principles of the language.

What are your attitudes towards the lesson?


-I read it and thought it was just the same, but after reading and summarized a friend gave me more insight.

Week 3: Narratives

Narratives

Hello, today we learned the narrative.First she told us that the purpose and types of narrative.The teacher taught us about the corporate message.The narrative begins with an orientation, followed by complications and end up with a resolution.
It is normally used the past tense to describe the story and link a lot to do with time.
Teachers give us new sheets are examples of storytelling.
We read them and discuss it together.

We read stories "The secret of Kylie". 

From this, I feel sorry for Kyle because she feels left out by her family. That makes her lonely.
I do not like Kylie's mother because she did not care for her child.
She is only interested in her new husband.
I dislike Philip because he was violent for Kylie.


What did you find easy?

-Personally, I think that is a simple vocabulary. It is not too difficult

What did you find difficult?


-The sequence of events of the story, at first very puzzling.

What did you solve the problem?

-I help each other a friend to help explain the story and the meaning or the main idea of the matter.


What are your attitudes towards the lesson?


-I read it and thought it was just the same, but after reading and summarized a friend gave me more insight.

Week2: Recount(Continued)



Recount(Continued)

Today we recount since last time. Teachers have told us to check with friends on a match or not. Then we come to a summarized based on this.

Summarise the story "My Grandpa's Funeral:
-Gathered together with relatives in the ceremony.
-Grandpa's body was dressed in a fine wearing and kept in the "tongkonan".
-Slaughtered the pigs and buffaloes.
-Move the corpse to face north.
-Placed the corpse in a sandal wood coffin.
-Bought out of the house and placed on an open platform beneath the granary.
-Prepared the "lakin".

After that, we started to do exercises 3 "An Excursion to the Botanic Gardens" I read the entire story by reading the non-stop for a quick word. I find the discourse markers and try to find the main idea of the matter.


What did you find easy?

-Learning from this, I think the content is not very difficult. It is a term that I have guessed.

What did you find difficult?


-Personally, I think a discourse markers is tough enough

What did you solve the problem?


-I resolved to listen and try to do the exercises at the Masters. I tried to understand by reading the information on the first page of the sheet.


What are your attitudes towards the lesson?

-Learned from last time. I feel that it is easier and more understandable.

Week1: Course introduction & Recount

Course introduction & Recount


Today was the first day of the course "A Discourse Approach in Reading". Teachers were told the name of explains and the terms classroom as follows:

-Be punctual
-Pay attention to the lesson
-Don't use the mobile phone in the classroom 
-Don't cheat
-Follow dress code policy
-Listen while the others are speaking or sharing

After the teacher has the agreement of the school. We began to recognize the recount. Teachers asked to recount what. Recount is what happened in the past, many people become legends retold to the present.

Text organisation
1.Orientation : when?, who?, what?, where?.
2.Events : action verbs/past tense, linking words, to do with time, specific, participants
3.Reorientation : conclusion

Next, we did exercises 2 "My Grandpa's Funeral in Toraja",  we read the story Identify genre of text and discourse markers. Read the story and find topic, main ideas and details.



What did you find easy?

-Learning from this, I think the content is not very difficult. It is a term that I have guessed.

What did you find difficult?


-Personally, I think a discourse markers is tough enough, because I was just starting to learn.

What did you solve the problem?


-I resolved to listen and try to do the exercises at the Masters. I tried to understand by reading the information on the first page of the sheet.


What are your attitudes towards the lesson?

-I think this is a little hard to understand, and can do the exercises at a certain level ever.
